Maintenance Overview
A key factor in buying an aircraft is its maintenance history and current maintenance status. This therefore is another vital element which we always have at hand for potential buyers. We will liaise with your mechanic or pilot to make sure this is presented in a clear and logical manner.
Advertising Campaign
Loudoun Aviation is convinced that a professional, broad based advertising campaign is the key to reaching the greatest number of prospective buyers and ultimately obtaining the highest price for your aircraft. We continually explore new ways to make your aircraft stand out against the competition. Currently, we advertise using the following methods: Direct Mail, Aircraft Multiple Listing Service, Print Advertisement, World Wide Web and Aviation Conventions.
Follow up Inquiries
Many years of selling experience means that it is second nature to the partners of Loudoun Aviation to tirelessly follow up inquiries and verify interest level and buying power. This aspect of the inquiry/sale process is of paramount importance as a lost opportunity means a slower sale time and lost dollars.
Qualify Prospective Buyers
One of Loudoun Aviation's greatest assets is the strength of its database. We have put tremendous effort into developing and maintaining an extensive in-house database which is edited on an hourly basis. This means we are able in most instances to qualify a buyer and determine if he/she currently owns or has previously owned a corporate aircraft.
Offer to Purchase
Once a serious buyer has been found, it is important to quickly secure the sale and negotiate general terms by way of an Offer to Purchase. This nullifies any possibility that unnecessary time and money invested in demonstration flights, contracts and prepurchase inspections has occurred before the buyer is fully qualified. It also insures that the main aspects of negotiations can be agreed to very early on to avoid any misunderstandings down the road.
Showings
Loudoun Aviation will make all the arrangements with prospective buyers for initial viewings of your aircraft, and where appropriate and practicable, we will also attend specific showings.
Contract
Prior to your aircraft commencing prebuy, we are able to front the contract negotiations utilizing our well refined Aircraft Purchase & Sale Agreements for both domestic and international sales to take the burden off of you. We also have at our disposal experienced business aviation attorneys should you so require. At all stages you remain in total control of what is and is not agreed to.

Prebuy
Most aircraft buyers require a prepurchase inspection to verify the condition of the aircraft to be carried out at a third party facility of their choosing. Our experience proves that it is imperative that the seller is in constant contact with the maintenance facility to make sure that the scope of the work is clearly defined and adhered to at all times. We will take the burden off you if you desire by drawing up a written agreement between you and the maintenance facility and by recommending an experienced engineer to oversee the process and protect your interests.
Squawk Negotiation
Traditionally, any airworthiness issues are the responsibility of the seller, however what is and is not airworthy often falls into a gray area. We are experienced at negotiating fair agreements as to what is to be covered by the seller from a list of squawks developed from the prepurchase inspection.
Closing
Closing of the transaction entails dove tailing a number of key issues in a short space of time. We liaise with the leading aviation escrow agents to insure that you release your aircraft when and only when all the purchase funds are irrevocably yours. The lead up to closing consists of many pieces of documentation, funds being put in place and other small but important details which if done wrong would delay payment and delivery. We are paid to make sure that unnecessary delays do not happen.
